Agence nationale de sécurité sanitaire de l'alimentation, de l'environnement et du travail

The French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES) is a public administrative institution which undertakes independent and pluralistic scientific expert assessments. Its primary task is to ensure human health (HH) and safety with regard to the environment, the workplace and food. ANSES is strongly committed to contributing to scientific expertise at the European Union and international levels, through its involvement with EU Agencies and committees as well as with international scientific panels such as the WHO, FAO or OECD. ANSES contributes also to European Chemical Regulation such as REACh, Biocides and Phytopharmaceuticals through its involvement with EU dedicated expert groups or committees. ANSES plays also a role by conducting research through participating in many European or international research projects such as: The EUROMIX project (H2020 EU project) which started in 2015 and aims to develop an experimentally verified, tiered strategy for the risk assessment of mixtures of multiple chemicals, which can be derived from multiple sources across different life stages. ANSES is leader of the WP5 of this project on Aggregated and cumulative exposure assessment.
